چکیده

Abstract A recalled memory is deemed authentic when it accurately represents how one experienced the original event. However, given convincing research in cognitive science on constructive nature of memory, this inevitably leads to question ‘bounds authenticity’. That is, similar does a have be experience still count as authentic? In paper we propose novel account ‘Situated Authenticity’ which highlights that norms authenticity are context-dependent. particular, show each three core functions episodic (self, social and directive) correlated with patterned changes levels conceptualization (e.g., concrete construal versus abstract event). We support theoretical existing empirical data. conclude by showing our Situated Authenticity supplements ongoing discussions contextualism, providing an outline account, currently elaborated targeting phenomenological level, may also processing level using concept representational format.
